Hot for Harry; Mad for Meghan

Six years into their marriage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still radiate affection for each other, according to a former associate.

“They are so hot for each other,” a former colleague shared in a Vanity Fair report. “Like, you know how you meet those couples where you’re like, the way they’re looking at each other, I should probably not be here right now?”

This deep connection is evident in how Harry, now 40, behaves toward Meghan, 43, particularly in public as they face the relentless media attention.

“He’s so protective of her because people are so nasty to her,” the insider revealed.

In public, Harry’s protectiveness is a stark contrast to the relaxed and personable demeanor he displays in private, the source added.

Harry has frequently expressed his need to protect Meghan, drawing parallels between her experiences and those of his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, especially regarding press treatment.

“My deepest fear is history repeating itself,” Harry stated in a 2019 declaration, referring to Diana’s tragic death in 1997 during a paparazzi chase in Paris.

“I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditized to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”

Their love story, which began in the summer of 2016, progressed quickly. According to the book Finding Freedom, they exchanged their first “I love you’s” within three months.

“When did I know she was ‘The One?’ The very first time we met,” Harry said during their post-engagement interview with the BBC in November 2017.

The couple married in May 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, amid widespread public attention. They are now parents to two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.

In a 2022 discussion about their business ventures, Meghan explained their approach: “So much of how my husband and I see things is through our love story,” she told Variety.

“I think that’s what people around the world connected to, especially with our wedding. People love love. I’m not excluded in that sentiment.”
