The officers assured him they would review the local CCTV footage to track down the baby’s parents. In the meantime, they said, they would start the process of finding a foster family for her.
Without missing a beat, Ralph stepped forward. “Can I take her in? I work from home, so I’ll have no trouble caring for her.”
The police collected some additional details and verified Ralph’s identification. After ensuring everything was in order, they agreed to let the baby stay with him temporarily.
