Prince Harry is once again under fire from Piers Morgan, this time after his unexpected trip to Ukraine earlier this week.

The Duke of Sussex has been in the UK recently, attending court over his ongoing legal battle regarding his personal security. Since stepping back from his royal duties, he no longer receives automatic, top-tier police protection when in Britain.

At present, any security arrangements for Harry in the UK are made on a case-by-case basis. He’s currently challenging this system, arguing that his family’s safety is a top priority in the matter.

In the midst of these legal proceedings, the 40-year-old Prince made a surprise visit to Ukraine, where he spent time with war victims and veterans.

Why has Prince Harry gone to Ukraine?

Prince Harry made a surprise visit to Ukraine on Thursday as part of his ongoing commitment to supporting wounded veterans, according to his spokesperson.

Having served in the Army for ten years, Harry has long been a strong advocate for veterans. In 2014, he founded the Invictus Games to support “wounded, injured and sick armed forces personnel, serving or veteran”.

During his visit to Ukraine this week, the Duke of Sussex stopped by the Superhumans Center in Lviv—an orthopedic clinic that provides treatment and rehabilitation for both injured military personnel and civilians affected by the ongoing conflict.

Andrey Stavnitser, co-founder of the Superhumans Center, shared details of Harry’s visit on social media.

He wrote: “A member of the British royal family visited Ukraine for the first time since the start of the full-scale war — and he came to us at @superhumans.center! The visit was not announced until the team left.

“@princeharryofengland founded @weareinvictusgames in 2014 — a sports competition for injured veterans.

“Harry served in the army, and was in Afghanistan twice. Thanks to the media weight of his voice, the prince does a lot for veterans around the world.”

Prince Harry reportedly said during the visit: “To come here to the Superhumans centre and see the incredible, amazing rehabilitation and care that is provided here under one purpose roof is just mind-blowing.”
