Meghan Markle shares new video of Lilibet revealing rare glimpse inside family home

Meghan Markle has delighted fans by sharing a rare video of her daughter, Princess Lilibet, offering a glimpse into her family’s private home life.

The Duchess of Sussex, whose new season of With Love, Meghan premiered on Netflix today (26 August), posted the short clip on Instagram to her 4.1 million followers. The video immediately caught attention, as both Meghan and Prince Harry have long been cautious about revealing their children’s faces on social media.

Meghan captioned the moment simply: “Morning surprise with my husband.”

Set to Mary Wells’ classic track My Guy, the video shows Meghan walking into her immaculate kitchen. At the center stood a large wooden island, decorated with a framed black and white photograph of her late beagle, Guy, propped against it. The poignant inclusion comes months after Meghan shared a heartbreaking video compilation in January, announcing that Guy had died. In that tribute, she recalled adopting him from a Canadian dog rescue in 2015 when he was frail and weak, immediately calling him “the little guy.”

“He was with me at Suits, when I got engaged, (and then married), when I became a mom… he was with me for everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort,” Meghan wrote at the time, adding that she hoped fans would “fall a little bit in love too.” Guy had even appeared in the trailer for the first season of With Love, Meghan.

In today’s clip, Lilibet — dressed in pink pajamas — walks up to the framed photo of Guy, which had been tied with a white box ribbon, and tenderly kisses the dog’s face. A large bouquet of seasonal flowers was also arranged on the island, while the kitchen’s bright and airy design was highlighted by a wide window framed with blue and white tiling.

The moment struck many fans as both intimate and surprising, given the Sussexes’ ongoing efforts to protect their children’s privacy since stepping away from royal duties and relocating to California in 2020. Meghan herself has spoken publicly about that decision, telling CBS: “Our kids are young. They’re three and five. They’re amazing. But all you want to do as parents is protect them. And so, as we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there, and we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good.”

The video, simple yet deeply personal, not only offered a rare glimpse of Princess Lilibet but also reflected the Duchess’s enduring affection for Guy, the dog who had been by her side through pivotal moments of her life.
