“Future King”: Prince George’s Sudden Crave Forces Superyacht Crew To Make Pit Stop In Greek Isles

Part 1 of 2

Prince William and his family made an unexpected detour to the Greek Islands during their Mediterranean getaway, all because Prince George reportedly wanted to eat something off-yacht and off-menu.

The impromptu stop, said to be prompted by the 12-year-old heir’s food request, comes as his mother Kate Middleton continues to weigh schooling options for her eldest son, who’s next in line after his father to become king.

A source close to the royal circle spoke to a British outlet, hinting that while specifics about George’s craving remain under wraps, it was clear his preference took priority—at least this time around.

A Secret Arrival in Kefalonia

Greek outlets reported the royal family’s arrival on the island of Kefalonia, located in the Ionian Sea, went entirely under the radar. They flew in via private jet from London, which was met by a luxury van and a discreet but visible security team.

Local residents noticed heightened security in the area, according to reports by Enikos. But the royals didn’t linger long. Soon after, they boarded the Opera, a $450 million superyacht.

The Opera—built by luxury shipbuilder Lurssen in Germany—is owned by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a high-profile figure from the UAE. Measuring 479 feet, the yacht is a floating mansion featuring 24 lavish cabins, space for 48 guests, dual helicopter pads, a gym, swimming pool, and a beach club.

The vessel is run by a crew of 80, and annual upkeep is estimated between $40 to $50 million.

But all of that had to pause mid-cruise when Prince George decided he wanted a specific meal, prompting the crew to send a tender boat to shore.
