King Charles forced Prince William to sign ‘waiver’ over major disagreement, new book claims

A new book alleges that King Charles made Prince William sign a waiver after he refused to comply with his father’s wishes.

While much attention has been given to King Charles’ strained relationship with his younger son, Prince Harry, it seems his bond with the future king hasn’t always been smooth either.

According to reports, the King and Prince William had a disagreement when Charles asked him to give up something he had long been doing.

Their dispute reportedly ended with William signing an official waiver, taking full responsibility for his actions in case of any unfortunate consequences.

In his new biography about the future Queen, Kate Middleton, author Rob Jobson reveals that the disagreement took place after King Charles received his cancer diagnosis.

The book suggests that Charles was deeply aware of the monarchy’s future resting on his shoulders. However, when he urged his eldest son to comply with his wishes, William declined.

One of Charles’ biggest concerns was William’s decision to personally fly his young family across the country in a helicopter, despite being an experienced pilot. The King feared that if a tragic accident occurred while they were all on board, it could drastically alter the Royal Family’s future.

As quoted in a passage published by Mail Online, Rob Jobson wrote: “An experienced pilot, William had upset the late Queen when he defied her request not to pilot his family the 115 miles from Kensington Palace to Anmer Hall, their home in Norfolk.

The Queen, haunted by the 1967 crash that killed the Captain of the Queen’s Flight (although no royals were on board), ‘did not hold back’, one aide said.

After being diagnosed with cancer, King Charles – perhaps reminded of his own mortality – echoed his late mother’s concerns.”

“When William refused to stop flying with his family, Charles insisted he sign a formal document, acknowledging the risks involved and taking full responsibility for his actions.

“It would be scant consolation, of course, for an unspeakable tragedy, let alone the prospect of King Harry and Queen Meghan…”

The royal correspondent’s latest book explores Kate Middleton’s journey, from her early university years under public scrutiny to her role as the future queen.

According to the biography’s description, “Her self-deprecation, willingness to laugh at herself, solid work ethic – along with her husband, William, warmth, and accessibility – this Royal Family’s dynamic duo have become the most popular members of the Royal Family.

“But it’s not come without its fair share of commentary and scandal, particularly with recent revelations on the relationship of the ‘Fab Four’ with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as well as her own health scares.”
