King Charles’ sh0cking demand when traveling revealed by royal expert

The British royals are known for their lavish lifestyle, funded largely by taxpayers.

Currently, they receive about £86 million annually, but that amount is expected to rise to £125 million by 2025 under a new government plan. While officials claimed the change would benefit public services, critics argue it’s misleading.

“The palace and government are guilty of appalling dishonesty, trying to spin an expected huge funding increase as a cut,” Graham Smith, head of the anti-monarchy group Republic, told Yahoo. He went on to question how Charles could justify such sums “when schools are struggling” and “nurses are fighting for a decent pay rise.”

Royal Tours and Public Appearances

Despite criticism, King Charles and Queen Camilla continue to prioritize royal tours, with visits planned to Australia, New Zealand, and Commonwealth nations in the Caribbean. A source told the Mirror, “The King and his family are keen to hit the ground running… he is very keen to get out and meet as many people as possible.”

Charles himself holds a fortune estimated at £478 million, and his travel habits reveal just how much luxury he maintains, even away from his many residences.

King Charles’ Unusual Demands

Former royal staff have shed light on the King’s strict personal routines. Paul Burrell, Princess Diana’s former butler, claimed that Charles has “everything done for him,” from his pajamas being pressed daily to his shoelaces ironed flat. Even his bath must be half full at a precise temperature, and valets reportedly squeeze toothpaste onto his brush each morning.

Perhaps the most surprising revelation came from author Tina Brown, who reported in her book The Palace Papers that Charles sends a van of personal belongings—including his bed, furniture, and even a toilet seat—ahead of his visits. Tom Bower made similar claims in Rebel Prince.

When asked about the toilet seat rumor during an Australian radio interview in 2018, Charles laughed it off: “My own what? Oh, don’t believe all that c***.” Camilla also dismissed it, saying firmly, “Don’t you believe that!”

Challenges Facing the Monarchy

Beyond quirky travel habits, experts warn that Charles faces far more pressing concerns. A report by Civitas described the Royal Family as “on the brink of collapse” due to declining public engagements. “Through death, scandal, and resignation, the Royal family is increasingly reliant on a few hard-working members,” said Frank Young, the report’s author.

With Charles favoring a “slimmed-down monarchy,” the shortage of working royals is becoming critical. Experts suggest he may need to bring in Princess Beatrice or Zara Tindall as full-time royals to maintain the institution’s visibility.

“The King’s ambition might be misplaced,” Young cautioned. “More people want the monarchy to remain unchanged than reflect changes in British life.”
