Two Dates a Day to Treat Anemia, Improve Eyesight, Lose Weight and Much More

4 – EYE HEALTH

With age, vision tends to decline. Among their benefits, dates are rich in zeaxanthin and lutein. Lutein constitutes an essential part of the pigment contained in the macula (part of the human eye), while zeaxanthin helps maintain vision and prevent its deterioration. Therefore, do not hesitate to consume dates to maintain healthy eyes.

5 – IMPORTANT SOURCE OF ENERGY

With high levels of natural sugars, including glucose and fructose, dates are a healthy snack choice. This fruit only contains trace amounts of sucrose, so it is suitable for people with diabetes* and can be used as a healthy substitute for white sugar.

During the holy month of Ramadan, millions of Muslims around the world break their daily fast with these sticky, sweet fruits to reap their nutritional benefits. Include them in your morning meal for an instant energy boost or eat them in the afternoon, after a workout, to recharge your batteries.

6 – EFFECTIVE FIBERS

Finally, dates make it possible to very effectively reinforce fiber intake, which is often lacking in meals today. A portion of

50 g of dates provides more than 3.5 g, which represents practically 12 to 15% of the recommended quantity for the day. The fibers in dates, which are essentially insoluble, are very effective in combating the tendency towards intestinal laziness. They are generally very well tolerated, especially when consuming the softer varieties of dates. A diet rich in fiber helps prevent type 2 diabetes, obesity and certain cardiometabolic disorders.

7 – THEY RELIEVE PAIN

Dates have analgesic properties. Their richness in magnesium and their antibacterial properties make the fruit an ideal remedy for soothing pain and infections. The manganese, selenium and copper contained in dates are essential elements for bone health.

8 – REDUCE ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION

Among the benefits of dates, their richness in potassium and low sodium levels. Several studies have shown that reducing salt (sodium) intake can reduce blood pressure. An increase in potassium levels also helps reduce and regulate blood pressure. Dates are also rich in magnesium, which helps dilate blood vessels.
