“Don’t eat it! There’s poison in the food!” — the homeless Black boy warned, but the female CEO snapped at him in anger… just a few minutes later, she collapsed at the dinner table herself…

Part 2 of 2

Glenn had been laid off when Vivian relocated factories overseas, leaving thousands without pensions. Glenn disappeared that night.

Detective Blake also noticed Jaden in the hallway and tracked him down beneath a city bridge. Trembling, Jaden explained what he saw.

At the hospital, Vivian’s assistant was shaken.

“She controls everything. She would never let something like this happen,” she murmured.

But as Detective Blake dug deeper, the truth surfaced: Glenn had lost everything.

The poison was meant only for Vivian—the tray had been prepared specifically for her table.

Two days later, Glenn was found in an abandoned motel room. “She ruined lives,” he said quietly. “I didn’t want to kill anyone else, just make her understand.”

Vivian survived. The media erupted with a new headline: “Homeless Boy Tried to Save CEO Before Poisoning.” Jaden’s courage went viral.

Months passed. Vivian, now frail, sat alone in her office. Investors had fled. Public trust crumbled. Something inside her had changed.

She went to find Jaden at a local shelter, where he was helping set out bowls of soup. “Do you remember me?” she asked softly.

“You’re the lady who got poisoned,” he said.

“I’m the lady who didn’t listen,” she replied.

Sitting across from him, she listened to his story—his mother lost to addiction, his years living on the streets, his dream of becoming a chef to “make food that heals people.”

Vivian’s voice shook as she handed him an envelope: a full scholarship to the Hudson Culinary Academy and a stipend for housing. Jaden stared at it, stunned. “Why would you do this?”

“Because you saved my life,” she said. “And now I want to help rebuild yours.”

Two years later, Jaden graduated at the top of his class. Vivian sat proudly in the front row.

When he stood at the podium, his voice steady, he said, “A meal can hurt or it can heal. And sometimes, the person who needs healing the most is the one who fed the world without understanding hunger.”

Vivian wiped away tears. In saving her life, Jaden had given her a new purpose.
